Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System:
This Comprehensive Ranking System ranks eligible candidates for immigration to Canada through Express Entry under the following components:
1. Core / Human Capital Components - This includes assessment of Age, Education, Official Language Proficiency and Canadian Work Experience if applicable.
2. Accompanying Spouse or Common Law Partner Components if applicable.
3. Skill Transferability Components - This includes assessment of Education, Foreign Work Experience and Certification of qualifications for those in trade occupations.
The maximum points to be allotted for the above 3 components is 600 Points
4. Additional Points - Additional points can be awarded to applicants that have Arranged Employment or a Provincial Nomination. You can also obtain additional points for having a sibling who is a Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizen living in Canada and for French speaking ability.

Recent Changes award additional points to candidates with French ability and to Candidates with a sibling in Canada.
Sibling in Canada
- 15 additional points for candidates who have a sibling in Canada who is a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of at least 18 years of age. These points may also be awarded if the Candidates spouse or common law partner has a sibling in Canada. The Candidate or his / her partner must share a Mother or Father with the sibling in Canada. This relationship may be through blood, adoption, marriage or common law partnership.
French Ability
- 15 additional points for French speaking candidates who prove adequate intermediate French speaking ability and English language test result of CLB 4 or lower or no English test results at all.
- 30 additional points for French speaking candidates who prove adequate intermediate or better French speaking ability and who can also prove English language test results of CLB 5 or better.
- 15 additional points for candidates who have a sibling in Canada who is a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of at least 18 years of age. These points may also be awarded if the Candidates spouse or common law partner has a sibling in Canada. The Candidate or his / her partner must share a Mother or Father with the sibling in Canada. This relationship may be through blood, adoption, marriage or common law partnership.
