Super Visa
Another way to bring Parents and Grandparents to Canada is through the Super Visa Program. This program allows family members to come to Canada as long term visitors on multiple entry visa that may last up to 10 years. A Super Visa is valid for 2 years before it has to be renewed.
This is an excellent option for those who are waiting to sponsor their Parents for Permanent Residency (PR) or for those that do not qualify for Parental Permanent Residency Sponsorship because the financial requirements with a Super Visa are 30% less than Permanent Resident Sponsorship and only one year of gross income must exceed the Minimum Necessary Income (MNI) instead of 3 years as is the case with Permanent Residency Sponsorship.
